Close to the famous ski resort Chamonix, renowned for its location at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe, Les Houches is a small typical mountain village. Capital of mountaineering, Chamonix and its region are much more than a resort: 10 ski areas make up the valley, and many activities are proposed in winter as in summer (snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, magnificent spa facing Mont Blanc, hikes to high altitude lakes, mountain biking...). Other tourist places are very appreciated: the Aiguille du Midi, starting point for the mythical Vallée Blanche, invites you to a unique experience at 3800m altitude, or the Montenvers Railway, leading to the Mer de Glace. The latter is a valley of glaciers 7.5 km long. Spectacular landscapes are to be discovered throughout the year.
